Amazon launches music streaming in UK
Online retailer Amazon has joined the UK streaming market with the launch of Prime Music.<br /><br /> The new service is available to Prime customers as part of their annual 79 pound (111 euro)subscription.<br /><br /> Over a million songs will be available with around 500 specially created playlists. <br /><br /> Streaming has become more competitive lately with the likes of Spotify, Deezer, Google Play, Apple Music and Jay-Z’s Tidal all vying for business. <br /><br /> Some artists’ music will be absent from the Amazon catalogue at first, including Amy Winehouse, Abba and Kanye West. They are all with Universal, which is involved in a dispute over royalties. <br /><br /> Apple and Spotify both claim to have around 30 million tracks.
