Subscribe to The Escapist! http://bit.ly/Sub2Escapist<br /><br />Escapist News Now with Andrea Rene <br />Follow Andrea on Twitter @andrearene<br /><br />PS4 "A GAMING CONSOLE" SAYS CEO (Escapist News Now)<br /><br />Sony's CEO Kaz Hirai recently spoke at the D11 conference in California where he gave remarks about the PlayStation 4, emphasizing that yes, this is a system for gamers.<br /><br />He said, "The most important thing we need to make sure we do at least initially is that we all agree and understand that the PS4 is a great video game console that appeals to video gamers. If we miss that part then I don't think we get the initial establishment of the console. We take a look at this first and foremost as a game console."<br /><br />Sounds like shots fired! He certainly is directing that comment towards Microsoft after they have come under enormous amounts of criticism from the gaming community for emphasizing entertainment functions during the unveiling of the Xbox One.<br /><br />Hirai did mention that there will be entertainment options on the system as well and that they would be revealing them in the coming months.
